'The Swindler' wins gold in The World Beer Cup awards 13/05/2016

One of our favourite Summer Ales has just been awarded Gold in the English-Style Summer Ale category, of the The World Beer Cup 2016 awards.

Dubbed 'The Olympics Of Beer', the competition was fierce with nearly 6600 entries from 55 countries vying for brewing glory at this year's event.

The awards were presented on Friday 6th in Philadelphia, with James Squire's Summer Ale one of two Australian breweries making it onto the winners' podium.

"The World Beer Cup style guidelines say of the English-style Summer Ale category: "The overall impression is refreshing and thirst-quenching."

It is light straw in appearance with a billowy head, showing tropical notes of pear and watermelon."
